The CDP39 air pistol torque screwdriver is a direct driven screwdriver. To start the driver the user uses the pistol trigger. The screwdriver's bit turns until the max torque value is reached or the operator releases the trigger of the screwdriver. Toque setting can be adjusted by changing the air pressure to the screwdriver.   Common usages for this screwdriver are assembly fastening applications that require drilling or tapping.
