Spring Balancers and Tool Balancers help to reduce operator fatigue and allow for a safer work area. They are also used to position an assembly tool above the application work space keeping it clean and uncluttered. 

There are 3 types of balancers used in the assembly process:

1. Spring – Are great for hanging light tools (from .6 – 11 lbs) above the work part.  Adjustable tension screws can completely compensate for the weight of the tool allowing exact placement of the tool. 
2. Air Tool – have all the benefits of spring balancers with the addition that the air hose is integrated into the balancers.
3. Tool – Are capable of handling much more weight. 

When sizing a tool balancer allows try an choose a balancer that matches your tool’s weight.  If possible the tool’s weight should fall as close to the middle weight range for the balancers.
