What is a torque meter
A torque meter, also known as a torque sensor or torque transducer is a device used to measure and record the torque on a rotating system such as a gearbox, engine, crankshaft, transmission, bicycle crank, cap torque tester or rotor. While static torque is easy to measure dynamic torque is not easy to measure since it likely requires a transfer of electric, hydraulic or magnetic effect from the shaft being measured to the static system.
What is a torque screwdriver
A torque screwdriver contains components that ensure tightening to specified torque. This ensures sufficient tightening that is not excessive.
Screws tightened insufficiently could loosen in operation and excessive tightening can damage parts.

Run Down Adapters (RDA)

Run down adapters (RDA) are designed to provide consistent and reliable torque readings when testing power driven torque control tools. RDA’s reduce the impact and irregular peaks that cause poor repeatability. Each RDA has an effective torque range and will provide repeatable torque data within that range if used correctly. The run down adapter is mounted in-line between the tool drive and transducer.
